California, here I come
Hey people. How’s it going?
It’s going extremely well for me, because right about now I should be waiting at the airport for my first flight of the day. I love air travel; the destination itself doesn’t really matter. The waiting in terminals, the tiny little bathrooms on the plane, horribly pedestrian in-flight magazines, parking shuttles… it should all really drive me crazy, but I actually look forward to it.
This destination this time is sunny San Diego for the IABC Leadership Institute convention thingamajigee. The details aren’t important, but basically I belong to a professional group that’s sending me to southern California for a couple of days to learn how to better run our local chapter and be a leader in general.
It’s not a cult, I swear.
Even though San Diego is the home of my Broncos’ sworn enemy Chargers, I’m willing to give it a shot. Any city that served as the backdrop for both Anchorman and Three’s Company deserves that much.
I’ll post a recap when I get back, but I’ve got a few posts already in the can set to go at random intervals over the next few days. The first one should come out later on today, I think.
Today’s journey has me starting out at my in-laws’ retirement community (I’m actually able to post this thanks to an elderly neighbor who couldn’t secure their wi-fi router), flying from Austin to Las Vegas and then onto San Diego. I haven’t figured out how to get from the airport to the hotel yet. Those of you who are interested in following my trip in real-time can keep up with my Twitter page. Those of you who aren’t interested, talk amongst yourselves.
Oh, one more thing – I wouldn’t mess with The Wife while I’m gone. She’s back at home tending to the young ‘uns and I predict she’ll be plenty cranky by the time I get back.

have fun!!!
oh, and learn a lot too
Don’t let him fool you. It’s totally a cult.
Have fun. And when you’re looking for my souvenir, remember what a pain your daughter can be.
Souvenir? Is that in the budget?
Souvenirs are always in the budget.
