Greetings from Milwaukee

Hi there! I’ve been in Milwaukee all week long at a nerd conference. Hope things have been going well for you. I’m flying back home today and will work on hammering out a recap on the plane. Expect it to show up here several weeks (or possibly months) from now.

In short, though, Milwaukee is really a great town. Although I was stuck in the hotel for most of the conference, I did manage to get out and about to take a look around yesterday afternoon. The people are friendly, the food is ridiculously fattening and town is full of interesting architecture.

And they’ve got sparkly, shiny wind things:

Wish me luck with today’s travels. I’m gonna need it. MKE ⇒ CVG ⇒ DFW ⇒ CLL. A little under 11 hours total. Woot.

Wishing you safe travels today! Glad you had a good conference. I’m helping to organize my professional organization’s annual conference for the first time and have a new appreciation for the work it takes to put it together!

Dude, I think you could have driven there in less than 11 hours. Or maybe not, but at least you wouldn’t have to go through 4 airports.

Glad you enjoyed Milwaukee! I find that the most unexpected cities offer the most to do, and the most culture. Saint Louis is my favorite city that most people would expect to be dull, depressing and boring. I think Milwaukee would be a nice place to visit for a few days. Looking forward to the full recap and photos!
