Chinese county rescinds cigarette order
A Chinese county has rescinded a rule urging its government workers to smoke more of a locally produced cigarette brand in order to boost tax income. Amazingly, under the ban, those who did not smoke enough or used brands from other provinces or overseas faced being fined or even fired.

In 1901, Nikola Tesla began work on a global system of giant towers meant to relay through the air not only news, stock reports and even pictures but also, unbeknown to investors, free electricity for one and all. Today, a fight is looming over the ghostly remains of a site called Wardenclyffe — what Tesla authorities call the only surviving workplace of the eccentric genius.
