A weekend to love
It’s funny how growing up changes how you look at weekends. In high school and college, it was always imperative to have something to do on the weekends. Now that we’ve got kids, my idea of a perfect weekend is one where absolutely nothing eventful happens. Weekends where we can all just kind of hang out and not to have worry about being anywhere or doing anything at a specific time. Just like this weekend.
Even Valentine’s Day was totally off the radar for us. Neither one of us really get all that worked up about Valentine’s Day any way, but this year we almost totally ignored it. With the exception of The Wife and I exchanging moderately priced cards (The Wife gets really worked up about how cards are a giant waste of money), it was just a normal Saturday for us. When you’ve got two kids and no one available to babysit, there’s not a whole lot you can do. Plus, after ten years, I believe we each know how we feel about one another without needing flowers, balloons or heart-shaped Nutter Butters to tell us.
So yes, we basically did nothing this weekend. Basketball practice, tax filing and a trip to the grocery store on Saturday. An afternoon at the park on Sunday. Cooked some pretty decent meals after the kids went to bed and watched some Arrested Development and Highlander together on the couch. All good stuff.
Pictures probably tell the story of our weekend better than anything else I could write, so here you go:

Hey we did our taxes too….too bad we already spent that money.
sounds like a great weekend. I’m still waiting on some info for my taxes, nice of them to tell me they got an extension on mailing it to me, oh wait they didn’t….
