I remember the good old days when the university had people walking around with shotguns to try and scare off all of the birds on campus. And I remember one time when Ed left his car parked under a tree in Fish Lot for a couple of weeks. You couldn’t even tell there was a car. It just looked like a giant mound of bird crap.
Ever since they ripped out all those old Fish Lot trees and built the West Side Garage, the birds have all moved into CS proper – mainly on Texas around Hastings and all up and down Rock Prairie for some reason. When I take the dog for her walks in the evening, huge swarms of them are flowing like an overhead river from Wellborn over to Highway 6.
Oh my god, I hate those birds.
Not the picture, the picture is good.
But I remember the birds. Or rather what they left behind. Specifically the smell of the sidewalk in front of the rec center.
It makes me throw up a little in my mouth just thinking about it.
Sorry, I may have just ruined a lovely post about a picture of birds.
