Expressing my inner anguish through the majesty of song
Man, I love having an iTunes gift card. Unfortunately, I tend to go through them pretty quickly, so that feeling of joy doesn’t last very long. Case in point – I got one on Saturday and I’ve already blown through it. Hope I get some more under the Christmas tree (hint)!
Since I’ve got nothing else to write about tonight, here’s a list of what I bought. Feel free to analyze whatever my purchases may or may not say about me. I refuse to apologize for my taste in music.
Here’s what I blew someone else’s $15 on:
- Part-Time Lover (Steve Wonder)
- You are the Sunshine of My Life (Stevie Wonder)
- I Just Called to Say I Love You (Stevie Wonder)
- Ashokan Farewell (The Civil War: Original Soundtrack)
- Bonnie Blue Flag (The Civil War: Original Soundtrack)
- Battle Cry of Freedom (The Civil War: Original Soundtrack)
- Cars (Gary Numan)
- We’re Not Gonna Take It (Twisted Sister)
- Talking in Your Sleep (The Romantics)
- Spice Up Your Life (Spice Girls)
- Crazy (Gnarls Barkley)
- Oh Sherrie (Steve Perry)
- Take It on the Run (REO Speedwagon)
- Can’t Fight This Feeling (REO Speedwagon)
I’m selflessly donating the remaining 15¢ to The Wife’s efforts to fill our laptop with Britney Spears and episodes of television shows that she’s already seen.
Fries at the bottom of the bag
- The Girl has started wearing her brother’s jacket around the house in a Landoesque manner.
- She’s also started treating her favorite stuffed animal like a baby – feeding it bottles, patting it on the back and even rocking it to sleep.
- Warning: walking around with a blanket over your head may not be entirely safe.
- Spotted this non-factory paint job while I was out driving the other day
- The Dog seems to be totally unaware that she’s headed to the vet for a week-long holiday “vacation” tomorrow morning. Guess I’ll go snuggle with her on the couch for a while.
- Anchorman is quite possibly the funniest movie of all time. Just about every line in the movie is quotable. I saw it last night on TV and enjoyed it so much that I had to bust out our DVD copy of it to watch again tonight.
I refuse to apologize for my taste in music as well. I mean, when you can sing along with Sunny 99.1 in Hobby Lobby, what more do you need?
No need to apologize, but you DO have the most eclectic taste in music of anyone I’ve ever met. And speaking of things we aren’t apologizing for, I LOVE Britney’s new song “Womanizer”. So there.
That is some variety, being said from the girl who swaps from classic rock to the alt rock to the 80s station on the ride to work each day. I finally bought some new Cds recently and realized I’ve listened to both bands since high school (Weezer and Offspring), not sure if thats cool or sad that your favorite bands are from years ago OR that you’ve played songs in band by at least one of them: imagine yourself in a room full of flautists and being the only one who seems to know what the song “Come out and Play” is supposed to sound like….
“Spice Up Your Life” ?? I am shocked you like that song, but come to think of it is is rather fun…
“Well, your hair looks STUPID.”
