An open letter

To the person who stole my car magnet:

I recognize that the presidential candidate I’m backing isn’t exactly the fashionable pick around these parts. I’ve noticed the glances I’ve been getting all around town after putting my little circular magnet on the back of my vehicle a month or two ago. I’m okay with that.

And I’m okay with you disagreeing with me about my choice, whatever your reasons may be. I don’t even require you to have any decent reasons. I respect your choice to think differently from me. If you want your own little magnet or sticker for your car, that’s cool.

What I’m not okay with was your childish attempt to… well, I don’t know what you were attempting to do, but you stole my little magnet at some point during the twenty minute span that my vehicle was parked up at The Wife’s office last week. Maybe it was just a random prank. More likely it was some kind of spur-of-the-moment, marginally thought-out political statement.

If it was the latter, I’ve got bad news for you. I had a spare. And it’s on my car now.

More bad news – I decided to order a couple more tonight just in case you strike again. And a yard sign. And I rounded up my donation. So directly because of your actions, that candidate you just couldn’t stand to see on the back of my car has now received more money from me.

Way to go.

love the letter. Kevin could’ve written a similar one when someone ripped off his “evolve fish” from his truck. We’re waiting on our stickers and yard sign right now.

Happy soon-to-be Birthday, where did our 20s go?

People turn stupid when it comes to presidential candidates, or politics in general. It seems most of the actions are not thought through. Having you seen the video where the old guy was caught keying Hummers? If that was an environmental statement, did he not realize that those Hummers would be repaired and re-painted making even more pollution? Stupid.

You neglected to mention that the even stupider part was the fact that MY car had the exact same magnet on the back. And my car had been parked in that lot for WEEKS and WEEKS without incident.

Because I work for a very conservative company (we lease space to the Dallas County Republican Party for probaly a penny a month), I don’t feel very free to express my political opinion on my car. However, anyone who has met me knows I’m a die-in-the-wool Democrat. Even my bosses. It’s part of my charm…

I have an Obama-Biden sign in my apartment window…I’m just waiting for the nasty note from my management office about it. He he he. I WORK HERE. SHUT UP!
