No longer a preschooler
I’m still kind of trying to catch up after last week (more on that soon), but I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge a pretty big milestone that occurred today: The Boy entered kindergarten.
He was pretty excited about finally getting to go to “big boy school”. We were pretty excited to get him out of daycare and start getting a return on our property taxes. It was a good day for everyone.
The Boy wasn’t too broken up about leaving preschool behind on Friday and he was ready to go this morning. We walked him into school and helped him find a spot to hang his backpack. After that, he was pretty much done with us. He waived good-bye and got down to work. Short and simple with no tears. It’s a real blessing to have a kid who enjoys learning so much.
After school, he happily reported than nap time was just fifteen minutes and that he got to eat at the big tables in the cafeteria (without falling, he added). The most exciting thing about his day was discovering that one of his little classmates has the same first name as me. He thought that was pretty funny.
He’s decided that he’ll go back tomorrow.

One day down–13 years to go! He will do great.
Congrats on the first day to The Boy.
My brain hurts from trying to make the sign to his left grammatically correct.

I feel like it needs an apostrophe in Schools.
I guess at least they didn’t put quotation marks around Successful.
