Pass the monkey chow please
If you’re looking for some laughs, just put some solid food in front of a seven-month old and turn her loose.
Yesterday, we gave The Girl some “first food” training cereal puffs that have a slight banana flavor. I call it monkey chow. The Girl calls it fun to play with.
A few announcements
It’s come to my attention that some of you haven’t been able to see the pictures in my posts because your employer is blocking Flickr. So starting with last Thursday’s post about San Antonio, I’ve stopped linking to Flickr for my pictures and am now storing them directly on my server. You’re all welcome, because quite frankily, it’s a pain in the ass to upload pictures twice. But I do it because I’m a great guy
So you should all be able to click on a link on my site now and actually see a photo. Nifty, huh? If you’re one of the oppressed, though, links to galleries and videos still won’t work for you. If you’d like to see those, I guess you’re going to have to log on from home or break out the pitch forks and torches at work.
Also of note are three new additions to the “Things I Read” list on the right over there:
- Shorpy: A blog that posts a single picture a day, mostly from the 1900s-1920s. This site is like getting a little present every day when I check it to see the most recent image.
- Apostrophe Abuse: I hate people who use superfluous apostrophes. So does the person who runs this blog.
- The “Blog” of “Unnecessary” Quotation Marks: Another hater blog about people who add a little extra to everything they write.
Fries at the bottom of the bag
- The Girl has started holding her own bottle, something I don’t think The Boy ever did. In fact, it’s kind of become old hat for her now.
- Our living room has been cleared out and turned into a toddler play zone. I miss all of our furniture.
- The Wife made Jell-O last night. LOTS of Jell-O.
- Can’t decide whether to use the word “could” or “should”? Just do what CNN does and make up your own word.

I love the “Blog” of “Unnecessary” Quotation Marks!
Yea on the Monkey Chow! And um…what’s with all the Jell-O?
It was just ONE box of Jell-O, I swear! It just looks like a lot because I individually packaged it for sending in lunches! Am thrifty and SMART.
That’s the best idea of using those Gerber food containers!
if you like old pictures, have you seen the ones from the building of skyscrapers in NYC??? they are great, but scary to look at!
I don’t think I have your email….if you want it, comment on my blog and I’ll email it to you.
I’m now “hooked” on Shorpy. The photo’s are “amazing” and I especially love the one’s of “DC”. That IS a treat every day!
The other blog’s are “funny”, too.
