Silly hats and baseball bats
This week has kind of gone by without me noticing it. I guess that’s what happens when you’ve got a lot of stuff to do. I’m sincerely hoping that the coming weekend is a slow one.
So what’s been going on? Well, The Boy had his second teeball baseball game (sorry…) and The Girl got to show off the latest in trendy infant head coverings.
After we took her to the first game, we realized that we didn’t have a decent hat for The Girl to wear out in the bright, bright sun. We had a bunch for The Boy, but they must have gotten lost somewhere along the way. So The Wife went out and bought a pair of hats for The Girl’s wee little noggin’, including this number.
I have to admit that I’m still getting used to the pink and purple flowery explosion that is having a baby girl. I’m actually surprised that The Wife bought a hat that was primarily blue. I thought it was against the law for our second child to wear blue in any way, shape or form.
The Boy continues to show signs of improvement on the diamond, especially in the hitting and running aspects. He still doesn’t pay attention to what’s going on most of the time, but hey—he’s five. As The Wife pointed out, at least he’s not the kid on the team picking his nose or holding his crotch throughout the entire game.
We’re still not keeping score or stats, but I secretly know that the boy went 3-for-3 on Wednesday with a pair of RBIs and a run for himself. Not that anyone is counting… at all…. certainly not me….
Fries at the bottom of the bag
- The Girl has started taking eight ounces of formula before heading to bed in the evenings. That’s double the amount of her regular feedings. Could solid nights of sleep be just around the corner? (Probably not…)
- For those of you who went to A&M, I had to go take some photos of Ring Day for work. They had it at G. Rollie White this year because they’re renovating the AFS building. It seemed kind of sterile and lame. I seem to remember Ring Day being fun. This was more like a wake.
- After weeks of prodding, needling and outright nagging, I’ve succeeded in getting The Wife to sign up for Facebook. Soon she too will spend every waking moment of her life playing Scrabulous and tracking down her classmates from preschool.
- Thank the maker college basketball is over. I can finally start watching television again.
