Technology 1, Me 0

I’m not dead. I’m just on strike.

My computer at work cratered earlier this week. That’s a bad, bad thing when your job consists of designing, creating and maintaining web sites. Hard to do that with just a pencil and paper.

I’ve been nominally operating with a prehistoric PC and my personal laptop, but it’s mostly just been an exercise in frustration. So frustrating, in fact, that I haven’t been feeling very “computery” in the evening – hence the lack of updates.

Stuff has been going on however:

  • I’ve updated my “The Crew” page to reflect, among other things, the fact that I now have a daughter.
  • The Wife celebrated a birthday. I won’t divulge her exact age, but suffice it to say that The Boy is gleefully telling people that she’s “almost thirty.”
  • We came home from work one day last week to discover that someone is building something ten feet behind our backyard. I’m hoping its a tattoo parlor or liquor store.
  • Easter came and went. The Boy dyed some more eggs at home and made a goofy hat at school. But then we didn’t actually have an egg hunt because he had already done one at school and we’re lazy. He didn’t seem to care (or notice).
  • The Girl had her first photo shoot for some three-month portraits, which entailed wearing her first dress. She then followed it up the next day by wearing another dress to church for Easter.
  • The Boy had another one of those days where he just had to drag a whole bunch of crap out and arrange it on the floor.
  • Our children continue to attempt to expand their horizons. For The Boy, it’s all about doing crossword puzzles. For The Girl, it’s just trying to sit up.
  • Meanwhile, The Dog just wants some love.
  • It appears that I will be getting a new computer at work, so maybe I’ll be feeling a little more computery next week.
